Four months have passed since the world as we knew it completely changed. Since the beginning of March, COVID-19 has affected the world we currently live in. From cancellations to travel restrictions and remote working conditions, what some call the invisible enemy has altered our lives in every way imaginable.

In March, the Department of Homeland Security designated Mosaic an essential industry. Because the work we do to help the world grow the food it needs is so vital, we have developed a number of enhanced safety measures to keep our 3,000 employees in Florida safe. Some of those safeguards include:

  • Transitioning workers throughout our North America Business from offices and sites to working from home until further notice. To help with the adjustment of working from home, employees have been able to bring some of their office equipment home, such as ergonomic chairs and other supplies to work more effectively.
  • Establishment of an online COVID-19 resource list for employees. This list includes the latest safety policies, important FAQs, and links to health-related information and resources.
  • Mandatory mask usage. Mosaic made temporary adjustments to our standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to help keep our people safe in certain types of work in group settings and where social distancing is not possible.
  • Routine cleaning and sanitizing. Mosaic has installed barriers and shields to protect employees and wipes down safety vehicles after every use.

Mosaic continues to use a phased approach as it brings employees in areas where it’s safe to do so such as Canada. However, in those areas where COVID-19 continues to surge remote work remains our new normal.
